Eligibility

Non-prior Military

Age: Be between 17-41 without prior military service

Education: Be a high school junior, senior, graduate, or GED minimum. May be eligible to obtain your GED in the GED Plus Program

Medical: Pass an Armed Services physical exam

Physical Condition: Must meet certain height and weight standards

Moral: Meet moral requirements

Mental: Obtain a qualifying score on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB Test) [You may have taken it in high school]

Age: Depends on years of service

Education: Meet standards

Medical: Pass physical

You can enlist and retain your old rank in most cases. All your active or reserve time counts for pay, promotions and retirement.
